The Observatory invites both emerging and expert translators to contribute to this online publication, which welcomes English versions of short works originally published in Spanish, from various genres, periods and geographical origins.

The Instituto Cervantes Observatory at Harvard is an examination center for the official exams of the Instituto Cervantes: the exams needed to obtain Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE); and the Conocimientos Culturales y Constitucionales de España (CCSE) tests, meant for people who wish to become Spanish citizens.
The Observatorio will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special event on Thursday, April 27th. Held at the Harvard Faculty Club, this event will feature special guest lectures by Director General of the Instituto Cervantes Luis García Montero and Harvard Visiting Professor and acclaimed author Valeria Luiselli.
