Three days of workshops translating from
Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish
led by a stellar team of award-winning translators – plus a multi-language workshop run by Daniel Hahn.
Two days of industry talks and panels on literary translation, including:
• My Life in Translation: keynote by Professor Susan Bassnett
• panels with publishers: What we are looking for in Translation
• themed sessions on translating for the theatre, translating children’s and young adult literature and graphic novels, the use of CAT tools, translating video games, and poetry translation
• expert advice on translator contracts in the UK and USA
• The Right to Write by Will Forrester, Translation Manager at English PEN
• a translation competition sponsored by Comma Press
Participants with an excellent command of English from around the world are invited to apply. The fee for the course is £315.
