Designing an effective language course for heritage learners or daily lesson plans requires the consideration of specific pedagogical principles and guidelines that reflect an understanding of current research in heritage language pedagogy. This workshop will provide an overview of the most important considerations teachers need to take into account when working with heritage learners and a description of curricular and pedagogical recommendations for the classroom. Participants will learn and share experiences about how to create a meaningful, positive, and rewarding learning experience for heritage learners that is reflective of current research.
