Singer Lua Rios and guitarist Carlos del Amo, founders of the band Gold Lake, leaded the band “We are Balboa”. The band just finished recording what will be their debut. Founding members Carlos and Lua met in Madrid in the midst of the Spanish music scene. Shortly after moving to Brooklyn they started Gold Lake first as a duo and then transforming into a trio after meeting Dave Burnett. As soon as the band was finally established, they started playing around NY and festivals such as “Filter Magazines Culture Collide Festival” in LA, NXNE festival in Toronto or Northside Festival in NY. They have opened for bands like “Nada Surf”. In the meantime, to whet our appetites, the band will be releasing a single with one song from their forthcoming Phil Ek-mixed debut album and a remix by Helio Sequence.
