As a collaborating institution, we are pleased to announce "Afro-Latinx Art", an event organized by the Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, Rights at Harvard University with the support of the Observatorio.

The event will take place on Monday, April 28, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., in Room S-030, CGIS South, 1730 Cambridge St.

The program will feature a lecture by Juana Valdés, a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores Afro-Cuban migration through the lens of material culture and personal experience.

The lecture will be followed by a conversation between the artist and Adriana Zavala, Professor at Tufts University and Executive Director of the US Latinx Art Forum.
