María Dueñas (Puertollano, Spain) came into the literature spotlight in 2009, achieving great success thanks to her first novel, El tiempo entre costuras, published in English language as The Time in Between. Her sucessive works, Misión Olvido (2012), published in English as The Heart Has Its Reasons,and La Templanza (published in English as The Seamstress), captivate both readers and critics.Las hijas del Capitán is her last published novel. Dueñas has already been translated into more than 35 different languages and has sold millions of copies; she has become one of the most appreciated writers both in Spain and in Latin America.
